Understanding Your Needs

Assessing how well you measure up to Safety and Health legislation is the starting point for understanding your needs. Apix can provide such an assessment of your needs by performing an Initial Status Review with a view to establishing a robust Safety Management System.

The Initial Status Review would involve a visit to your premises, interfacing with your employees, carrying out behavioural work observations and closely examining the work methods being employed. The result of this review would be the production of a report which would detail any actions required to meet legal compliance and, where appropriate, best practice.

Management Action Plan

On completion of the Initial Status Review we would work with you to develop a Management Action Plan, the purpose of which would be to establish a number of prioritised actions designed to remove any unsafe practices, achieve legal compliance and establish a robust Safety Management System.

Maintaining Your Standards

An effective Safety Management System in place is, however, only the first step to achieving the highest safety standards. To ensure these standards are maintained Apix is also able to perform a planned system of tiered safety audits.

Risk Assessments

Any Safety Management System has a fundamental requirement for Risk Assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and compare the levels of risk against the measures that are in place to control them.

There are numerous types of Risk Assessment that may be required in establishing an effective Safety Management System, many of which may be completed at the same time as an Initial Status Review. This process of creating a Safety Management System may also identify specific areas of risk requiring more specialist Risk Assessments e.g. Fire Risk Assessments, Display Screen Equipment and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, etc. Apix can help with these too.

Construction

In addition to their normal activities many organisations become involved with building work at times, whether it is moving an office partition or constructing a whole new manufacturing plant. Such activities require special attention from the Safety, Health and Environmental team and in many cases there are absolute duties placed on the client company, regardless of whether or not the work is contracted out. As with all other areas of Safety, Health and Environmental work Apix has extensive hands-on and regulatory experience and can help you maintain your performance during construction activities.
